Health warning: contents of this post may disturb

One of the joys of my role is that I get to work with one of the coolest guys I know. He is featured in a smokin' profile in our Press' weekend section today. It begins:
It's true. Spanky is an unusual name for a reverend but it's a lot better than Idiot Pants. Meet Anglican minister Spanky Moore. The only time he goes by his real name, Joshua, is when he is ''asking for money''.
You can read the rest here, but if you object to food throwing, I need to give you a health warning before you read on. Also, don't have a hot coffee between your keyboard and your lips.

". It was not a degree in theology that brought him from his rural Nelson home to Christchurch but his punk band, Clown Dog."

Obviously not a catholic. I could not imagine keeping a straight face and addressing him as 'Father Spanky' Is he ashamed of his baptismal name?

However, as long as he doesn't come across as a mere clown to those young intellectuals at Uni. They'll keep him 'on the ball'.

Good for him. Well done Rev Spanky and keep batting for the side.

Interestingly, I have just read this article which expands on some the questions raised
