Fixing the race or listening to the Spirit?

A few posts below I blogged on the Sydney punditocracy getting into gear on the successor to ++Peter (not due to retire until 2013). Now David Ould has followed up with a post which collects a few other posts together and then extends the thinking towards working out the new man ahead of the actual election.

In a few other posts I have question what the leading of the Spirit, or listening to the Spirit means, especially where such talk seems divorced from engagement with Scripture.

Sydney, O Sydney, what am I to do with you? Some trust in the Spirit is okay. Yes, even for evangelicals. God can and will work it out. Trust God. Wait patiently. Let the Spirit lead!
